Many camphor trees were removed from Chinsegut Hill as part of the 2014 restoration project of the property. They are an invasive tree and threatened to overtake the virgin longleaf pines in the area. However, camphor is a very beautiful wood that produces majestic bowls and vessels. The Chinsegut camphor is very special because it was planted and cared for by Lisa von Borowsky.
